New Dodges Market Reviews

WOW The meals were beyond creatively phenomenal. The ambiance was classically local and stunningly simple. The service was unmatched. I have never been anywhere that pleasantly surprised me as much as dodges market.

Dodges grilled cheese was amazing as was the tomato soup! I also got the chicken stacker which only had chicken and balsamic that was my only disappointment but I would definitely return because we all make mistakes

I ordered catering from here for an anniversary party and it exceeded my expectations. Every thing was delicious & arranged to perfection. Scott is awesome and very accommodating! I had to change my head Cout last minute and order a dessert tray. I'm sure glad I did. We had plenty of left over. We kindly fought over who was taking left overs home. Thank You

Oh yes, FRESH! That is the word we kept saying over and over again. I left so satisfied and happy. So what did we order? I got a half order of the Gorgonzola salad which accompanied a bacon tomato & bacon grilled cheddar cheese sandwich with light potato chips. My friend got the Scott's favorite cheesesteak. Where do I begin? The salad was crispy FRESH. The Gorgonzola... was the best I've ever had... so I ordered a pound of it on my way out the door. But back to the salad. Perfectly light balsamic vinaigrette glazed over freshly chopped apples, walnuts and cranberries. I will want to order this again. Now the sandwich... The bacon on the sandwich was hardy and oh so flavorful.... the bread.... soft and beautiful! Did I mention FRESH? And last but certainly not least, the cheesesteak. Fluffy bread, juicy meat, crispy fresh lettuce (sliced beautifully), and thick juicy seasoned tomatoes. What an awesome find!

Discovering New Dodges Market in Elmer, NJ
Tucked away in the quiet borough of Elmer, New Dodges Market is more than just a local diner—it’s where neighbors meet, where travelers pause, and where good food always feels homemade. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with that unmistakable warmth—wood-paneled charm, a friendly smile behind the counter, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee floating through the air.
The location is easy to find, right on Chestnut Street, and the kind of place you’d never expect to discover such a well-rounded menu. Whether you're after a hearty breakfast, a quick sandwich on your lunch break, or just a slice of pie and some conversation, this spot delivers on all fronts. It’s a classic example of how a small-town market can serve big-time flavor.
Homestyle Menu with Local Flavor
What sets New Dodges Market apart is its approach to food—simple, satisfying, and rooted in local ingredients. Their breakfast options are a local favorite. Think buttermilk pancakes stacked high, eggs cooked your way, and crispy bacon that tastes like it was made with love (because it probably was).
One regular at the diner told me, “I’ve been coming here for years, and the breakfast never disappoints. It tastes like Sunday mornings with my grandma.” That kind of consistent praise isn’t easy to earn, and it’s clear they’ve found the sweet spot between quality and comfort.
Lunch brings in a steady stream of regulars. Favorites include their chicken salad sandwich, cheeseburger deluxe, and seasonal soups that are made fresh daily. Vegetarian options aren’t an afterthought either—there’s a solid rotation of meat-free meals that still pack a punch in flavor.
Don’t skip the dessert, either. Their apple pie might be one of the best-kept secrets in Salem County.
More Than a Market—A Community Hub
While food is at the heart of New Dodges Market, what keeps people coming back is the atmosphere. It feels like one part restaurant, one part community center. Locals gather for coffee and conversation, and staff members know many guests by name.
There’s an authenticity to the experience that can’t be faked. During one of my visits, I watched the owner step out from the kitchen to check on a regular's order—not because he had to, but because he cared. That’s rare, and it shows.
Reviews from customers often highlight this personal touch. “The staff always make me feel like family,” one Yelp reviewer wrote. “Even when I just stop in for a quick coffee, they remember how I take it.”
An Easy Stop for Travelers and Locals Alike
